Larry Bisbee, Director

Larry is the son of talented parents, both musicians, Norman and Anita of South Paris, Maine. Norman played piano and trumpet, Anita, piano. They spent nearly half a lifetime involved in music, mostly with "The Old Parisians" orchestra of West Paris, Maine.

Larry's grandfather, Leroy, was an exacting violinist from Sumner, Maine. His aunt, Ida Bisbee White, trombonist, was an accomplished musician touring Europe with an all women's orchestra in the 1930s and playing "Chatauquas" throughout the Northeast US.

On the other side of the family, Larry's grandfather Harry, was a noted guide in Rangeley, Maine with roots deeply embedded in the state. His grandmother Annie was a Dunham (let us remember with reverance, Mellie Dunham of Norway) Maine's champion fiddler who played for Henry Ford in
Dearborn, Michigan.

More recently, Larry's daughter Kathy, of Santa Cruz, California is a musician, vocals and drums. His son Jim, of Saco, Maine also plays a bit on the guitar.

For the past thirty years or so, Larry has been involved in music as a radio broadcaster, actor and writer. His work has ranged from professional touring theatre director, disc jockey, magazine publisher to show promoter, news correspondent, YMCA Director and public administrator.

His theatre credits include Heidelburg Theatre Conference, Germany; Toul Rosieres Theatre Project, France; Sandy River Players (co-founder), Maine and movie credits "Stargate" 1993 with Kurt Russell. Larry has now chosen to spend his time and energy providing assistance to new and seasoned musicians and songwriters through the Countryfolk Music Theatre Project in Maine.

Kathy Bisbee, Web Designer

Kathy Bisbee created the web site interface and maintains the web pages of Countryfolk Music.com. Kathy directs her energy on small business and non-profit development through technology. She has a B.A in Political Science and Social Sciences from the University of Maine, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications and Public Relations.

She is the daughter of Countryfolk Music Director, Larry Bisbee, and enjoys watching her dad creatively using the Internet to bring communities together, share Maine stories and music and to support local musicians.

Arriving in California from Maine, Kathy developed and promoted special events and campaigns, which include coordinating the countywide Earth Day event in 1994, serving as the Development Director for several local non-profits, and while on staff performed on stage with EarthSave's environmental education project, Youth for Environmental Sanity.

As an activist, she soon harnessed the power of technology to educate, communicate and pioneer artistic exploration.

Kathy moved to Director of Marketing in 1999 at Cruzio, a Santa Cruz, CA Internet Service Provider, after serving on the technical support team for three years. She developed and coordinates Cruzio's annual Small Business Series, has served on the steering committee for the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce Technology Symposium & Exposition, as well as a founding member for the Santa Cruz Digital Arts Festival, now in its second season

She enjoys creating music, playing drums and singing blues and folk music, and loves seeing live shows of every genre of music. Her husband, Alec, is an avid taper of live music and a guitarist. Bisbee, a genealogist and digital videographer, sees technology not just as artistic communication, but as a way of recording the past, the present and the future.
